i dont think its ruined. as with any genre that gets popular on youtube (lets say lets plays or commentary channels) most will be kind of bad because the creators are inexperienced, young or just not cut out for it but there are also the good ones. honestly i think if a (youtube) content creator isn't willing to say these terms and take the ding potentially associated with it, they have no business making that kind of content. the nature of true crime demands a high level of respect in handling, and saying something as flippant as "unalive" outright pisses on the graves of the people's deaths they profit off of.

How about instead of combating content farms on youtube that are blatantly bad, i instead say that parents should parent? That way literally nothing will change but i get to feel a smug sense of superiority. Thats a far more reasonable solution.

It's an epidemic of people having a lowered vocabulary... the education system has got so bad that it's considered racist or hate speech in some areas to correct some people when using incorrect English or bad vernacular. It's almost planned in many cases to keep some people and what they say automatically dismissed. Saying a person ended his or her own life, or saying that a horrible individual took the life of another is the same as "sewer slide" or "un-alived". The fact that anyone thought it was the best or a creative way to use those choices as a substitute should show anyone who we should, and should not be focusing on when it comes to serious subject matter. If injecting humor or bringing levity to a horrible situation, then cool, use whatever you feel is necessary. Many times that's a perfect way to help others understand and comprehend what's going on... but if that's not what you're doing, and the goal is to be taken seriously, there are so many combinations of words and substitutions that everyone can use without having others ignore what messaging is there due to perceived ignorance, maturity level, understanding of the subject at hand, or stupidity. It happens more than anyone thinks, especially when you hear many people of varying ages and groups say, why would anyone who matters listen to someone who can't put a sentence together properly about this topic? Much less in this context? A person may get views and pats on the back, but overall they'll be treated like a child where it counts and nothing will change. It's something creators and people overall don't want to hear but they need to change (Again using humor and entertainment is different). As an example how much more has mental health awareness increased? How much more knowledge about mental health and the causes of poor mental health issues have we gained in the last 20 years? Is it better or worse now? If it can go either way when awareness and education increased like it has, then its not perceived as being as much of an issue and ignored where it counts. There are times we need some people to not think we're all stupid. How we use our words is the fastest way for anyone to do so. Too many idiots are platformed by important people because they can speak properly and clearly.

I totally relate to the idea that if one must censor or omit the word "suicide", one should at least come up with better alternatives than "unalived oneself". A friend of mine once described their attempt as "i tried to exit early", offline of course, but that phrase is *so* much more evocative than a lot of the others you see in our increasingly dumbed-down, over-censored and AI overtaken online media landscape.

Really frustrating when someone adds an "advertisement chapter" to the video, but leaves a chunk of the _actual video_ in that chapter. Is it supposed to encourage people to watch through the ad? It's not very effective if that's the point. It's just actively irritating. Unrelated note, it took me a second but it caught me off guard like a mf when I realized that I was hearing a piano cover of "The End of The World" by Skeeter Davis.
